Business Botswana CEO shares Private Sector Perspective at Monetary Policy Statement Launch

Today, 25 February 2026, Business Botswana Chief Executive Officer, Ms Tumi Mbaakanyi, served as a panelist at the Monetary Policy Statement launch hosted by the Bank of Botswana. The engagement convened policymakers, financial institutions, and private sector leaders to examine the implications of the current monetary policy direction on business operations and the broader economy.

 

In her contribution, Ms Mbaakanyi highlighted the private sector’s central role in driving productivity, job creation, and economic diversification. She underscored how interest rates, exchange rate movements, and commercial lending conditions continue to shape business viability, operational capacity, and access to liquidity.
